U.S. Diversity: I Am an American

The high volume of responses to my recent post “What the Obama and Palin Phenomena Say about American Culture“ as it was linked to by different online discussion groups, reinforces for me how deeply polarized the U.S. is right now.  It seems very difficult for proponents of different political philosophies to not cast aspersions and make judgments about each other.  It further indicates how vital the work of diversity and inclusion is and how even those who are deeply committed to inclusion face challenges to not respond tit for tat.

So in the midst of the shouting, here’s an inclusion paradox sighting that takes us back a few years but is still relevant. This ad, by the Ad Council,  originally ran in the wake of the 9/11 tragedy. Thanks to author, speaker, and inclusionparadox.com reader, Michael Lee Stallard, who shared it in response to my post.
