“Hewitt is honored to earn this prestigious award. We recognize and value the importance of leadership diversity and we’re committed to creating an environment where all of our associates can thrive professionally,” said Tracy Keogh, senior vice president of human resources at Hewitt, in Hewitt’s press release announcing the award. ”Through development and mentoring programs, succession planning and benefits packages, we are proud to provide our associates with opportunities that enable them to acknowledge their full potential as leaders.”
More than 40% of associates at Hewitt are women and approximately 36% are managers. Thirty percent of our executive officers are women.
Some of Hewitt’s efforts that support the development of women in the workplace include Women In Leadership, the Centre for Women in Leadership within Hewitt University, and Menttium, a formal mentoring program for high-potential, high-performing corporate women that welcomes participation from many companies, including Hewitt. We also have a business resource group for Working Parents with chapters in various offices across the US and Canada.
This award will make this month’s celebration on March 26th of National Women’s History Month particularly special at Hewitt. This year’s theme is Women in Leadership: Past, Present, and Future. Our guest speaker will be Betsy Myers who will focus on Authentic Leadership. Most recently, Myers served as a senior advisor to Barack Obama’s presidential campaign as the Chief Operating Officer. She also represented the campaign as a as Chair, Women for Obama. Prior to this she was the Executive Director of the Center for Public Leadership at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.
We celebrate, yes! And yet, we need to not let up in our efforts to ensure we continue to attract the best female talent around and that we continue to nurture an environment where they can bring their authentic selves to work so they can contribute their best.
