First Gay Couple Ever in Latin America Granted Legal Same Sex Wedding

“We have to live with and accept this reality: the world is moving in this direction,” the mayor of Buenos Aires Mauricio Macri said as a marriage license was granted to a couple who may very well be the first same-sex couple to receive one in machista Latin America.

Reinforcing the premise that LGBT issues are best addressed as a civil rights issue rather than through the ballot box, is this quote from Judge Gabriela Seihas, who granted the license: “Limiting marriage to a man and woman violates the constitutional rights of equality.”  Read the full story on gay in Latin America.
