Jason Fried, co-founder of Chicago-based software firm 37signals, recently testified to the power of stressing difference–your own unique personality and skills–in getting a job.  In a June 1 posting on Inc., he claims that cover letters matter way more than resumes, given how they provide more opportunities to show off diversity.
